Josh Barro is a domestic correspondent for The New York Times, where he writes for The Upshot, a Times politics and policy site. He writes mostly about economic issues, from fiscal policy and labor markets to rent control and ride-sharing.
Before joining The Times, Mr. Barro wrote for Business Insider and Bloomberg View, and was a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research. Before all that, he was a commercial real estate banker at Wells Fargo, working on construction financing when the market was good and problem loan workouts when it was not.
Mr. Barro is also a contributor and frequent guest host on MSNBC. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Harvard and lives in Manhattan.
